2017 BGHS graduate and Lady Purple Basketball Alumni decided to take her talents to Georgetown College. Purple Nation is Proud of you Pinky!
Georgetown College women’s basketball coach James Jackson has added another piece to his first team. Markizjah “Pinky” Mimms, a 5-foot-6 combo guard from Bowling Green, Ky. has signed a letter of intent to play this season.
At Bowling Green, Mimms had a standout high school career averaging 14.3 points per game and pulling down 4.5 rebounds per game during her senior season. As a result of her individual efforts she was named to the All-Region team. Mimms, a four year starter, also assisted in leading her team to a district championship title in 2014-15 and a regional championship title resulting in a trip to the Sweet Sixteen in 2016.
“Markizjah is an all-around athlete who brings a winning mentality to our program.” Jackson said. “She understands what it takes to compete at the highest level, and we are excited to have her here at Georgetown.”
Mimms also considered Fisk University, Motlow State and Volunteer State.
She joins Michaela Kennedy and Raegan Williams in Georgetown’s 2017 recruiting class.
