For the second time in school history, the state of Kentucky’s prestigious Mr. Football award, will be a Purple. Jamale “Juice” Carothers joins Nacarius Fant as the second Mr. Football winner in Purples. The Naval Academy commit caps a record breaking senior season with the award. Since the season has ended Carothers has racked up awards, including Gatorade Player of the Year, Bluegrasspreps.com Player of the year, and multiple 1st Team All-State selections.
Carothers finished the season with 1,400 yards on 185 carries, and added 884 receiving yards. He found the endzone 38 times during his Senior campaign. Carothers put the stamp on his senior season in the Class 5A State Championship game in which he accounted for 239 yards and 5 touchdowns as the Purples captured the state crown with a 70-22 victory over Pulaski County. Carothers leaves Bowling Green High School as the career leader in points, as well as the leader in career rushing yards with 3,895 yards.
In addition to his accolades on the field, Carothers carries a 3.6 GPA and spends time mentoring the youth in the community.
